My new vice-president of sales, Jens Baun, is set to arrive in Canada on June 28, and we couldn’t be more excited.
We’re particularly thrilled that one of the top sales professionals in all of Europe recognizes 360’s potential enough to haul up his family and leave his native Denmark to come aboard.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the innovative, multitiered business management system in which 360 Visibility specializes, was developed in Denmark, and Jens has been extremely successful in selling it there.
Our expectations for Jens are admittedly high, but given his outstanding track record-with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and much more-entirely reasonable. We plan to triple in size within the next 3 years.
There, I said it. Flat out.
Watch it happen.
Jens has a long and storied history in this field. He began his IT career way back before there was such a thing, establishing his first company at 22. The time was ripe: There were computers to buy back then, Jens will tell you-but no software to run on them.
When he found a company in New Zealand that distributed shareware, he travelled to its UK subsidiary to bring back a 20 MB HD loaded with the stuff. Jens began selling this and eventually met with professional buyers considering implementing computers in their businesses.
When he asked if they needed any advice on hardware and software and they said yes, a stellar sales career was born.
This posting led to a job as sales exec with one of the very first IBM partners selling PCs and PS2 in a B2B environment. The existing business software wasn’t doing the trick, so IBM launched the Navigator product (later to become Navision and-now-NAV), and started peddling it along with PS2s, printers and-later-LANs.
Jens went on to establish a Belgium-based firm, Scandinavian Business Consulting, that grew from two people in one location to 24 people in three. Concurrently, he worked for Navision Germany recruiting and training local partners in Navision on a consulting basis.
Fast forward through the years and miles, and find us here at 360 Visibility excitedly anticipating our next executive’s arrival, a man who calls himself “a simple person with a simple plan: to double the numbers!”
Jens is keen to get more aggressive in the market, and to arm himself with the sharpest salespeople in Canada. But he’ll also generously apply the special emphasis on relationship longevity (he’s been with his wife since they were 16), hard work and dedication he insists are responsible for his success, in cultivating 360’s image as the company in the industry with the biggest ambitions.
