The Situation
Birch Hill Equity Partners was established by former investment professionals of TD Capital as a stand-alone entity, which then needed to migrate all aspects of its operations out of the parent bank. For all practical purposes, Birch Hill was a start-up in terms of its technology infrastructure. Everything needed to be put in place from the ground up, preferably by a single-source supplier to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The Solution
First out of the gate was a Great Plains implementation, an enterprise-wide resource planning solution that formed the backbone of the new entity’s accounting and operating platform. This was later teamed up with a Microsoft CRM solution, to effectively manage all key customer touch-points, and Blackberry wireless communications devices, to provide all staff with the anywhere, anytime connectivity needed to manage and grow the business.
