The Client
Savage Arms Canada is a division of US-based Savage Arms. The company manufactures center fire and rim fire rifles. Savage Arms rifles feature patented technology and their products are considered a standard in the industry. The company is dedicated to excellence, quality, customer satisfaction and providing shooters with an exceptional experience in the field and on the range. In order to maintain its leadership in the industry, Savage Arms was looking to update its current financial systems in order to better service their clients.
Before 360 Visibility
There was a mandate from the new owners of Savage Arms that required all divisions to be on a current financial system in order to be compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Their current system needed to be upgraded based on the age of the hardware and software.
Since we dealt with 360 Visibility before for an upgrade to one of our other ERP systems, we decided to reach out to them and see what they had to offer this time around. They are also a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner so the partnership made sense.
Implementing Dynamics GP
360 Visibility was tasked with moving Savage Arms from an old version of Dynamics GP to the latest Microsoft Dynamics GP. This process involved re-implementing Business Portal Requisition Management as their old version of BP had no upgrade path
Legacy in-house applications for manufacturing and quality assurance were integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP. This was done with minimal down time when cutting over during the production upgrade. The manufacturing process had multiple shifts, so scheduling the upgrade was critical.
