With the successful launch of Dynamics NAV and GP, Microsoft has now turned their attention to improving the already versatile and super useful Office. While there are a ton of incredible new features for the new Office 365, I want to focus on one of the most exciting Office applications updates ever: Lync 2013.
By now you probably already know that Lync makes it easy for you and your employees to stay connected whenever and wherever, but with Lync 2013, Microsoft isn’t just raising the communication bar, they’re setting it on fire!
Here are just a few of the amazing new features:
Not Even a Latte Emergency Can Stop This Meeting! – No matter whether you’re in a coffee shop with your laptop or on a train with your smartphone, as long as you have network connectivity, Lync 2013 will keep you connected to your team. You never have to worry about you or a team member missing an important meeting because they’re running late or out of the office. Lync automatically adapts to network conditions, and the new immersive Lync app for Windows 8 and Windows RT provides a seamless experience.
Why Call When Works Just Fine? – Just like every client is different, every meeting doesn’t have to happen the same way. With Lync 2013, you can communicate with clients and team members any way you want. Whether you need voice or video calls, Lync Meetings, presence, or instant messaging (IM), Lync brings it all together in one easy-to-use client, making it simple to choose and switch between the communication styles you need. Because sometimes goes a long way.
Spread the Love…Even to Mac Users – Lync offers a variety of ways you can connect with even the most unenlightened clients and suppliers. The Lync Web App allows PC and Mac users to join a Lync Meeting from a web browser without skimping on all the bells and whistles that come with the full Lync experience. The app still includes IM, voice, multiparty video, data collaboration and sharing. And even better, Lync can even be integrated with Skype, so the whole world can be open to your business.
Your Team, Suppliers, and Clients Just a Click Away – Probably the best feature of all is just how simple Lync 2013 makes it to throw a mini web party. You can easily start a meeting using Quick Lync, a menu that appears over each of your contacts in the Lync contact list with all available communication modes. Once you have everyone online, you can see up to five people at a time simultaneously with new multiparty HD video support. And all it takes to join a meeting is a single click. It’s that easy!
Simply put, this is the best Lync yet! With huge new updates, Lync 2013 makes all the complications and difficulties of virtual meeting virtually a thing of the past. Meet with anyone, anywhere, anytime. There’s nothing stopping you now.
